Daily Tarot Reading ~The Hanged Man

I have not posted a daily reading in quite sometime, but today I felt guided to pull a card for all, on a bit of a stormy New Moon morning! And given where I am right now this card very much held meaning for me, and I hope it does for you as well...

The message of this card stated that even if you have to take a stand, and as a result face an uncertain future that trust in the support of universal flow (the vines that are holding up the Fae in the above image) will keep you sustained, and in the end things will work out for the best.

Daily Card Reading~ 10 The Wheel (Wildwood Tarot)

Wild Wood Tarot by Mark Ryan and John Matthews

Hello All!  It had been a long time since I posted a daily card reading on my tarot blog, and I have to say it feels good to be using this forum once again!  I pulled a three card personal reading with the Wild Wood Tarot yesterday, and the first card from that reading was the wheel seen above.  Yesterday, on my main blog Nereids' Enchantments I intuitively was posting on the concept of fate.  So, later on in the evening when I pulled this card in my reading I laughed, because the contemplation of FATE was definitely the theme that stayed with me throughout the day.

The write up for this card in the book that accompanies the deck states:
"The Wheel traditionally represents the cycles of eternal law and evolution that all living creatures are governed by.  Change in unavoidable and necessary if the cycles of nature are to remain alive and regenerative.  But on the human level we are the weavers of our own destiny.  Consciously or unconsciously, we make the patterns or possibilities that mark our path through fate.  We wear our fate around us like a cloak, carrying with us all the potentials and possibilities that the universe has to offer and, although the seemingly random, chaotic nature of the universe always has the final word, we can affect our own life and that of the world by taking control of our destiny.  Many believe that fate is set, that all things are predestined no matter what we do in this human reality, but the weaver of the cloak can affect this ever-shifting matrix of potential just by recognizing the pattern and making timely decisions.  We can grasp the web of fate and weave in our own special pattern."

I thought that this excerpt was fitting to the theme that my blogs have embodied these past few days.  Enjoy!

Daily Card Reading~ 8 of Cups RWS

Hello All!  I hope that you are having an enjoyable 2013!  I have not posted a daily card reading since September because I have been immersed in writing my book project, pulling me away from my blogs.  But as we shift into the energy of the new year, I felt that is was important to post on this journey that we call life, for each day we all keep moving along our path.

I am not sure about you but I find that as we shift past the point of 2012, there is an uneasiness amongst the collective as the old ways fall, and we enter a time that is more and more transparent.  Transparency is hard for those that hide in the shadows, and you can see that those that tend to slide toward the darker realms on the scale of polarity, having a hard time.

Yet, those who work for  the light must keep on keeping on this road that is sometimes dark, but always illuminated, even if only by the dimmest of stars at times...know that you and we as a collective have the strength to keep moving forward, as we transition out of darker times, into a paradigm that is filled with light, leaving behind the old and growing into the new.

Daily Card Reading~2 of Wands (Enchanted Forest Tarot)

Today for my daily card reading I drew the two of wands from the Enchanted Forest Tarot.  This is always a powerful time of year for me for various reasons, including the fact that we are headed into the Autumnal Equinox, which is a time of balance, a fact that is always reflected in a 2.  Wands the suit of creativity.   The frog in this picture can be seen holding the world in his hands.  And, for me in this deck this card shouts that it is time for inner contemplation.  Message: During this time of balance you hold the world in your hands, so look within to find the answers that you should apply without.

I have been consumed in researching my book project for the last four years, and I am finally reaching a time where I feel that my knowledge starting to coalesce and I am getting a clear vision about where I am headed in my writing and research.

My understanding of the universe is also deepening.  I am really in tune with Hermetic teachings at the moment.  I am jumping throughout history to Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas finding connections everywhere.  I have been reflecting a lot, going over my journals, and trying to find the theme.

All cultures tell of a golden age, and it is coming to me through research and reflection, that during this period of history man was not divided.  Globally there was a shared religion and language (perhaps), was this Atlantis? When that empire fell, and its survivors spread out...is it the fragments that Atlantis survivors carried to various points across the globe that give global myth its parallels?

Alexander the Great had an appreciation for culture as he conquered and spread his empire.  Alexandria became a global hub of knowledge, where everyone spoke Greek.  The fact that Greek was imposed on the cultures that Alexander took over, allowed for a sharing of information.  As we move along in the processional cycle out of the age of Pisces headed by the tag I believe, we enter into the age of Aquarius which is guided by the tag I know.

Daily Reading~ The Devil with a 6 of Pentacles Pop Out

Over the years I have fallen in and out of my love affair with the Tarot. Yet, I realize that even when I put the cards aside, they are always with me, and for the most part my studies are forever deepening my understanding with the cards...

Today for the daily card reading I broke out what I consider to be my darkest (for lack of a better word) deck: Deviant Moon Tarot.  In fact, this deck was purchased intuitively when I was at the bookstore a few years ago, during a period when I was not intensely studying the cards.  I got this deck because it popped out at me, brought it home, flipped through the cards, and then placed the deck aside because it scared me.  However, I knew that the cards were meant to be with me, I understood I had put them aside for a future time.

Over the years I have come to this deck now and again, looking at the images.  Appreciating the art.  But, never doing an actual reading with the cards.  Today, I have been reflecting on the fact that the wheel of the year is turning as we head into the Vernal Equinox on September 22nd.  This is the time where we come into perfect balance, and then head into the fall.  Mythically, this is the time where the sun falls below into the underworld, after it is judged by the scales of Libra.  And when Persephone must begin her descent into Hades.

As we head into darker part of the year, I felt it was time to read with one of my most beautiful and also my darkest of Tarots.  Reviews of the Deviant Moon Tarot reveal that I am not the only one who had to confront the macabre world that this deck has you delving into.  So, today I picked up these cards and did a reading...

The card I drew was the devil and then out popped the 6 of pentacles.  The message of this reading was apparent right away.  For me this reading meant that I should be happy that I am standing on my own, for when you accept hand outs from the devil you might get burned.

Daily Card Reading~ Queen of Pentacles

Yesterday, for the daily card reading I drew the Queen of Pentacles, yet I was unable to post.  Therefore, I thought it would be fitting to address an important point about my daily card readings, regarding the illusion of time.  There is no time in spirit, therefore, whenever you find a post on a tarot card, it is meant for you to read at that moment, regardless of when the card was actually drawn.  Just because I drew this card yesterday, does not mean that I cannot find insight from this same card today, and at any given time when this card appears as a symbol in my life.

So, now let us look at this luxurious queen.  She sits in a garden overflowing with abundance focused on the pentacle, which I view as her power to manifest in this physical reality (hence why she is the Queen of this suit with its connections to earth).  What are you at the height of creating? Are you feeling a flow of abundance at this time?  Are you seeing the results of your creative endeavours?  These are the questions that lie at the core of this earthly and abundant queen.  Meditate on her for your answers if they have not already arrived intuitively.
