Daily Card Reading~ The Empress

Today for the daily card reading I drew the Empress.  This card expresses the height of feminity and abundance.  It can also signal a birth (metaphorically speaking this can refer to the birth of a new project).  The sync experience for me is that in conjunction with my established blog Nereids' Enchantments I began this Tarot blog a month ago. Then, a few days ago I was inspired to start a poetry and art blog, featuring my work at Poetry by JYN Star.  So, this has definately been a time of birthing and creating for me.

The Empress sits in a garden, surrounded by beauty. She enjoys the finer things in life, living in the lap of luxury.  So, I read this card as meaning we are in a time of creation. By tuning into the magic, beauty, and mystery of the world that surrounds us, we can create and manifest our projects and plans. The symbol for Venus adorns the pillow and stone on the card.  In fact the Venus Transit  ushered in a return of the Goddess, which is partially the theme within my first poem featured on my poetry blog.

Daily Card Reading~ Three of Swords

Three of Swords
Today for the daily card reading I drew the three of swords.  This card has been coming up a lot lately in readings that I have done for other people.  The three of swords card can often symbolize heartache or pain.  Yet, it is important to note that the storm in this card is clearing. Astrologically, Venus has turned direct today, after a month and a half in retrograde.  Therefore, I read this card as reinforcing that the last month and a half has been difficult for many, as far as their relationships are concerned.  But, today as Venus turns direct, the storm is lifting, and all matters concerning love and relationships will smooth out, clearing the way for light...

Daily Card Reading~ Ace of Pentacles

Today for the daily card reading I drew the Ace of Pentacles.  Ace's are about beginnings, and in the suit of pentacles, it refers to seeing the start of your creative endeavours manifest on the earthly plane. This card shows a hand coming out of the clouds, with the gift of a coin!  Linking to our previous daily card posting, mountains can once again be seen in the distance (but they are no longer in the forefront).  Perhaps signaling that this has been a long journey, with many obstacles, but the gateway has opened which brings us through to the other side, with the manifestation finally coming through in the realm of linear space and time.
My sync experience today, another job offer working as a Tarot reader, as I open to abundance, the opportunities keep coming!

One of my favorite Tarot resources is Learning Tarot, on that website Joan Bunning states:

"The Ace of Pentacles is a symbol of possibility in the area of prosperity, abundance, trust, security and groundedness. In readings, it shows that a seed of productivity has been planted in your life although you may not yet recognize it. When the seed sprouts, it could take almost any form. It might be a feeling of centeredness, desire for results or need to focus on practical matters. On the outside, it could be an offer, gift, opportunity, encounter or synchronistic event.

When you see this Ace, examine your life to see how its solid energy could work for you. Now is not the time for fantasy, drama or daring. It is a time to be real and centered. Seek out comfortable, reliable experiences that make you feel secure. Build a foundation of trust in your life both within and without. Your common sense will tell you what to do. Focus also on the natural world to help you stay grounded. Enjoy your body and all the joys of material existence.

The Ace of Pentacles can be a sign that you will be able to make your dreams real. Your ideas are ready to be turned into something tangible. Figure out what will work and make it a reality. You can now attract all the wealth you need to get your projects going. Tap into the material force of the Ace of Pentacles, and all your enterprises will flourish."

Daily Card Readings~ 8 of Wands

Today for the daily card reading I drew the 8 of Wands.  First thing I think when I draw this card is that a message is on the way.  Wands have been popping up often for me in personal readings, and now in readings for this blog.  The suit of wands refers to the element of fire and the spark of creativity.  The 8 of Wands is also about taking action, with the number 8 often being related to business, career pursuits, and financial security.

The sync experiences in my life reinforcing this card...I am currently reading Enchantments of the Faerie Realm by Ted Andrews.  It is interesting that I pulled the card signaling the arrival of a message right after reading this book...I randomly remembered something I had read in the past about seeing into the world of the Fey, by looking through stones with holes.  I then immediately looked up and saw a shell that I collected on a trip to the ocean, noticing that the shell had a hole. I started to play with the shell by looking through the hole and peering out the window in my room.  Right away, I saw a spark of light, and allowed my imagination to believe that it was a flash from the realm of the Fey.

Perhaps the message for all entrepreneurs (including myself), is to embrace the realm of magic, believe in yourself, and your ability to manifest, and you will continue to grow creatively.  The water on this card alludes to the unconscious, mountains often represent obstacles.  It is not easy when you branch out and begin your own business, but know that your plans are in the air (the universe), and your time will come.

The Eight of Wands was reinforced by the 8 of Cups, which popped out of  the deck while I was shuffling.  This card seems like a close up of the scene shown on the 8 of Wands, but now we can closely see the path, alluding to the journey that we are all on.   Life is not easy, you have to overcome many obstacles. But, I have learned that things work best when you allow yourself to be led by intuition, accepting the journey that we are on as human beings (it is the journey of the fool).  This card is about looking for answers, so if you are searching, pay attention to your thoughts and sync experiences, for these are the clues that are illuminating the way.

P.S. My real life experience today totally mimics the first book in The Spiderwick Chronicles, wouldn't you agree?  I ask that of anyone who has read those series of children's books...

Daily Card Reading~ 2 of Wands Fairytale Tarot by Lisa Hunt

City Mouse, Country Mouse (Two of Wands) - by Lisa Hunt
A sketch of the 2 of Wands in the Fairytale Tarot by Lisa Hunt
I am always amazed at how synchronized the Tarot is! Since I recently started this Tarot blog, I thought it would be fitting if I posted daily readings.  So, for my first blog reading I used the Fairytale Tarot by Lisa Hunt to do a one card reading for the day.  I asked: What card should I post on my Tarot blog today?  The answer, the Two of Wands, the story attached with this card is the Romanian tale City Mouse, Country Mouse...in the deck the card is referenced as seeing past illusions, the symbols and meanings on this card state:

"The country mouse is resourceful.  She wears an apron, symbolic of hard work, and an orange shawl a color suggesting industry and fruitfulness.  Her basket is associated with offerings and hospitality.  Her appearance juxtaposes the gray-coat-waring city-slicker mouse.  He wears a top hat associated with lofty pretensions.  His black bag is suggestive of secrets and restraint.  The yellow daisy is an offering of friendship.  The oak tree is sturdy and strong, symbolic of a wee-grounded life.  The faces within the tree are aspects of the collective unconscious.  The three acorns represent fecundity.  The dead leaves carpet the ground with insulation.  The mushrooms suggest the fairy realm.  The crystal-topped wands provide clarity and truth."

For me I mainly took away the fact that the grass is not always greener on the other side (as indicated when this card is pulled).  It was a reminder for me to be present and happy, because things always have a way of working out!  Wands is the suit of fire/creativity.  2's are about partnerships, love, and joint ventures.  So, I guess personally it is about pursuing my creative passions, understanding where I am, knowing that things are working for my highest good, and will turn out for the best.  What were your thoughts when you saw this card?  How does it apply to your own life?

Nereids' Enchantments Blog: Fairytales~ East of the Sun West of the Moon

On my other blog Nereids' Enchantments I just posted on the fairytale East of the Sun West of the Moon, which serves as the 10 of pentacles in the Fairytale Tarot by Lisa Hunt. So, I thought I would share a link on the 10 of Pentacles in the RWS system, for an even deeper connection to the card and my other post...

Fairytale Tarot Review at Aeclectic Tarot

This blog has really enabled me to reconnect with some of my favorite articles that I have read over the years in the field of Tarot (as I put together materials to post and share).  I love the world of myth and fairytales, which has made the Fairytale Tarot from Magical Realist Press a favorite of mine.  In a snippet from a review by Bonnie Cehovet on Aeclectic Tarot  she states:

"In her introduction, Mahony talks about what fairy tales are to her (and to many of us): they are a way of seeing past the material/mundane part of life into the life's deeper layers, the more magickal realms. They reflect universal wisdom and archetypal patterns, crossing both cultural and time barriers. I agree with her comments that how a particular story/tale is interpreted will depend upon the reader, and the conditions existing at the time of the reading. My personal opinion here would be that at times fairy tales allow us to discuss parts of life that we would otherwise keep to ourselves. They allow us to acknowledge the Wicked Stepmother, or the Foolish Person, and to do so in a safe environment."

The below link provides the rest of the review highlighted above, along with reviews by two other authors.  Enjoy!  ~JYN
